忠勇王歌 is the dominant piece of the anthology, spanning pp. 28–37 (10 pages, 174 numbered couplets, 348 half-lines). It is a sweeping oral historical-mythological narrative tracing legendary events from the cosmological creation (Pangu, Fuxi, Confucius) through successive dynasties (Yellow Emperor lineage, Xia, Shang, Zhou) to the Spring-Autumn and Warring States period, culminating in the Hakka settlement of Guangdong. Supernatural and Buddhist elements (dragon magic, phoenix imagery, dharma transmission) are interwoven throughout.
pp. 28–29: Creation and mythological origins — Pangu opens heaven and earth; Confucius; the Pan, Lan, Lei three surnames; Fuxi; Liu Shannong; Youxiong lineage.
pp. 30–31: Dragon/phoenix supernatural narrative — golden dragon descends; Emperor Gaoxin; Dragon King crown prince; Liu dragon roams mortal world; third princess; Longsuo takes down the notice.
pp. 31–32: Imperial investiture arc — King of Yan; Six Boards of government; Longsuo as High Ancestor; three surnames' marriage alliances with Eastern Yi women.
pp. 32–33: Imperial grants, official ranks, protective edicts — Guanghui birth narrative; boy-child praised by emperor.
p. 34: Bridal costume and dowry description — phoenix crown, silver butterflies, pearls, Eight Immortals carvings; blue silk handkerchief.
pp. 34–35: Migration to Guangdong; Phoenix Mountain; mountain goat encounter; the bǐng-year festival.
pp. 35–36: Settlement and ancestral temple unification; three surnames sharing the ancestral hall; Liu dragon; seventy-two year reign; Chaozhou Phoenix Village.
pp. 36–37: Dynastic timeline — Zhou dynasty; Houji; Spring-Autumn/Warring States upheaval; final ancestral temple resolution.
The Cantonese/Hakka substrate appears in 仔/崽 used as a diminutive (e.g., 男仔 nánjǎi = boy-child, 羊仔 yángjǎi = young goat, 羊仔 as Hakka diminutive). The suffix 仔 (zǎi/jǎi) is consistently a Cantonese/Hakka diminutive marker, not standard Mandarin. The term 嗡 at line 65L may be a phonetic borrowing; the ń particle at line 128L (羊母嗯仔) is a Hakka/Cantonese interjection. Standard Mandarin pinyin approximations are used throughout where dialect pronunciation cannot be confirmed.
As confirmed by footnote ① on p.25, characters throughout this anthology may be used phonetically rather than semantically. Several lines in this song contain phrases where standard semantic interpretation yields no coherent meaning — these are flagged A and require native speaker verification.

采录者 (Collector / Recorder): 钟志斗 (zhōng zhì dǒu)
Source location: Colophon recorded on p. 37, the final page of the anthology. Confirms this as the terminal song of the collection.
Note: The earlier songs in the anthology (pp. 25–28) carry different attributions — singers 曾远超 (zēng yuǎn chāo) and 叶昌光 (yè chāng guāng); collectors 叶昌光 and 曾志远 (zēng zhì yuǎn). This confirms the anthology was compiled from multiple performers and collectors.
